"*Major Spoilers Ahead. Like Seriously* Don't get me wrong, I liked the book. I only feel that it could have been better. The pacing of the book went fine until he was captured by the Drows while with the beastwomen. After that point, it was pretty hard to follow. Some of the concepts, such as the dwarven armor, felt pretty forced in and confusing. His then infiltration and escape of the dwarven capital felt out of place. The creation of the "spaceship" and pixies was great though. A good way to use the mineral he had. It felt kind of hard to believe that his Trio would come back to him so easily after being gone for 6 years though. Willow I can understand waiting because of the fact she is a longer lived species and had the ring to tell her he was still alive. But for the others to come back after moving on was a bit of a stretch. Did I appreciate it? Yes, I did. Just felt unnatural. It kinds felt like some of the ideas that came either to him or his "crew" where all over the place and just added to that confused feeling I had while reading it. This book definitely needed more time to be written and expanded upon to help combat the rushed feeling. Do I look forward to the next one? Yes. I just hope that I don't feel like it was rushed while I am reading it."

- The first couple books were pretty good, a grown man transplanted to a fantasy world, common theme but the books were well written. The main character has regressed in the latest book; he is now fairly stupid, very incompetent, ineffective, cowardly, a whiney, crying, blubbering idiot. He now routinely cries and begs for mercy when in a fight or experiencing pain. Also the grown man from the first two books is gone; the main character is now very child like. Child like thoughts, dialog, behavior. It seems to be written now for pre-pubescent children. The entire book is poorly written compared to the first two. The situations are awkwardly contrived, the actions and dialog are not believable at all. Either a different author wrote this, or the author has decided to target a different audience. I would not recommend this for any adult, a child of 10-12 might enjoy it.

Like most, I fell in love with the first two novels. This third novel was nothing but trash. DO NOT believe the product description for this novel. PD will happen in the last two chapters, but until then you get to read about weak and pathetic MC that can't do anything but whining and complaining, with a little crying thrown in. - My first review disappeared at some point. I'm not sure why, either. It has about 12 upvotes. In fact, many, if not all, the reviews I remember seeing before have disappeared
Dislikes
1. The main character fails at everything he does. If he is in a fight, he will lose. If someone is trying to kidnap him, he will get kidnapped. If there is a trap, he will fall into it. If he needs to succeed, he will fail.
2. The main character doesn't suffer psychological damage or trauma.
3. The main character is basically an eternal damsel in distress.
4. None of the characters exhibit realistic actions or emotions.
5. The book regressed farther than any book I've ever read in my life.
Likes
1. He didn't lose all his girlfriends. That's a win, I guess? As incrediably unlikely as it is.
Anyone who gives this book a 5 star review is either friends with the author, a pathological liar, or has never read a good book in their lives.
The author really messed up. Hopefully he learns from it. - So I've been a fan of the magic system in this world, kinda litrpgish but not at all, and the progression and originality of it is great. This book is different from the others as in the MC is vulnerable and basically has too come up with any way to survive and the solutions are great. I'm trying not too spoil anything but the story continues into past lore that has been talked about before becomes a danger again for not just the MC but everyone and everything.
And I'm seeing these hate reviews and don't understand their reasonings. MC is nvr a bumbling idiot. He's not a damsel in distress ever. And the dwarfs are an important part of finding the new lore and if you didn't catch it, read it all again. and there is trauma shown, if you noticed the times he attacks with illusion, he brings up his feelings about it, though it isn't overdone ever. Maybe in the next book since the author did end the book soon after his traumatic experience.
My issues are that it ended too soon. That the happy ending shouldn't have been the end but the middle and problems brought up should have been more detailed. Like the last bit of the book just feels rushed (and yes the MC is rushed himself into things so that's a part of it) and the end didn't feel too great. I just wanted more direct conflict and resolutions. I know I'll get it in the next book though so I'll just have to wait. Great read and looking forward to the next 7.5/10 - After reading the second book, I was afraid about how the third book was going to progress. Gamelit/litrpg type book sometimes fall in the pitfalls of overpowered characters breeze through the second half of story arc b/c they either discovered some cheat mechanic or b/c they progressed so much in the previous book it becomes a fait accompli. Robert Harper quickly put such notions to rest pretty quickly. If the second book was a mostly about Danny's triumph, the third book put Danny through soul crushing trials with a pay off at the end that while expected was well deserved.
The author also avoided conveniently introducing new overpowered antagonist or dangers to balance the scale of Danny's abilities in book 2. So the escalation of the threat and trials that Danny's struggle through in book 3 are consistent from what we learned in previous book. The world is remains precarious and the scope of the danger put Danny's abilities in context. Really can't wait to see how the rest of the series pans out.
